Mahashivratri
The ‘Great Night of Shiva’ or Mahashivratri is celebrated with great pomp and show at the Rameswaram Temple somewhere between the months of February and March. The festivities last over ten days.
Navratri marks the period of nine nights and ten days when Goddess Durga is worshipped. Celebrated as per the Hindu almanac, it falls in the months of September and October. The festivities culminate with Dussehra.Sri Chakra or the sacred symbol of Shakti

Rameswaram offers delicious and elaborate South-Indian platters and Thalis which are mostly vegetarian. However, one can also find a number of non-vegetarian preparations including a wide range of seafood.
The Ramanathaswamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The temple is located in Rameswaram and is considered a holy pilgrimage site for Shaivites, Vaishnavites, and Smarthas.
The Pamban Bridge is India's first sea bridge and was the longest sea bridge in India until the opening of the Bandra-Worli Sea Link in 2010. It is one of the major attractions in Rameswaram.
In 1964’s cyclone the full-fledged town of Dhanushkodi was destroyed, and ever since it is known as the Ghost Town. It’s popular for its picturesque sunrise and sunset, rubbled buildings and is also famous as a bird-watching destination
